Passion Project: Serve With These Hands

Many of you may remember when I announced that I was taking nominations for my 2017 passion projects. One of the first emails I got was about Amy and her ministry Serve With These Hands which provides resources, care baskets, and support for women who deliver stillborn babies and babies who pass away before leaving the hospital. Because Amy and her family have done so much to give back to our community it was an honor to gift a session to her family. I am also going to be collecting items that she uses to create her care baskets for the remainder of the month. Please consider donating some of the following items which she includes in each basket: blankets, lotion, kleenex, thank you cards, cozy socks, pens, journals, and the baskets to put the items in. You can email or text me ( or 775-240-1807) about items you have purchased to donate and I will provide you with my address for drop-off.

Here is Amy's story in her own words "On November 9, 2015 at 7:09 pm our son Jeremiah Joe was born. He weighed 1 pd 3.2 ounces and was 13 inches long. He had joined Jesus days before we cast our eyes on him. I lost my baby and my uterus that day but I never lost God. I felt like I was in the boat with Jesus while the waves were crashing loudly around us. Heart breaking news would hit my ears and then I would cast my eyes back on Jesus and hear the truth. The pain of going through labor with a baby that is born quiet and still is heartbreaking. Together we can shine God's light into the darkness for these moms. Join me in collecting items, putting together gift baskets and delivering them."

I had such a wonderful time wandering the park with Amy and her beautiful family to capture some memories for them!
